No awards, no membership badges we have not earned, and no numbers about how many moves we have done. Just what we do and how.
Why the inventory comes first
A great many removals firms in south London will move your things competently. Fewer can tell you, weeks later, exactly what went into which container and when it was last touched. That gap is where nearly every storage complaint lives, and it is the gap this firm was set up to close.
So the inventory is written where the goods are, in front of you, and it names things rather than counting boxes. Containers are numbered. Seals are numbered. Both numbers go on paperwork you keep. It is not complicated and it is not expensive to do — it simply has to be done at the house rather than reconstructed afterwards at a depot.
Wimbledon in particular
We work SW19 and SW20 because the dates in this part of London are unusually prone to slipping. Chains here are long, purchases are large, and a surprising share of the moves we quote end up with a gap in the middle of them. A firm that treats storage as an add-on struggles with that. A firm built around it does not.
It also means we know the streets. Which ones need a suspension and which have drives. Which blocks on the Broadway want a lift booked and which building managers want notice. How we quote
We survey, then we write a figure down. We do not give a number over the phone against a bedroom count, because a bedroom count does not describe a garage, a loft or a staircase with a turn in it. The four things that move the figure are volume, access, packing depth and whether anything needs holding — and all four are visible at survey and invisible on the phone.
You will not find prices on this site, and you will not find transit times for European routes either. Both would be guesses dressed up as information. What you get instead is a written quote for a stated inventory, and an estimated window for your actual route rather than a general one.
What we will tell you honestly
When man and van is the wrong service for your house, and when a full removal is overkill for your flat. When a piece of furniture will not survive a second dismantling. When a sofa will not fit through an Algarve doorway. When a move that begins and ends in Colliers Wood is better with a Colliers Wood firm. And when we are not the right people for the job at all.
Saying those things loses us work occasionally. It loses us less than the alternative.
