Office and business moves in Wimbledon

Commercial work around the Broadway, Merton High Street, the Raynes Park side and the smaller studio units across Merton. An office move is scheduled around a building and a business rather than around a household, which changes almost everything about how it is planned.

The difference between a good office move and a bad one is decided in the survey with the building manager, not on the night.

What a commercial move involves

Building survey Lifts, loading bays, access hours, goods entrances and whoever has to approve all of it.
Out-of-hours work Evenings and weekends where the lease or the landlord requires it, so trading is not interrupted.
Crate hire Reusable crates rather than cartons for desks and files — faster to pack, faster to unpack, nothing to dispose of.
Labelled plan Every crate and item marked to a destination position against a floor plan you approve beforehand.
IT handling Machines disconnected, carried and placed. Reconnection stays with your IT people, and we say so plainly.
Sealed records Files and confidential material moved under the same numbered and sealed chain as stored goods.

The building decides the plan

In a Wimbledon office block the constraints are rarely about furniture. They are about which lift can be booked, for how long, whether it needs protecting, where a vehicle can stand on the Broadway, and what hours the landlord permits work.

We survey with those questions first and build the schedule backwards from them. That is also why quoting an office move from a floor area alone is meaningless — two identical floors in two different buildings are different jobs.

Keeping the business running

Most commercial moves here happen on a Friday evening into a weekend, so that Monday works. That requires the destination to be genuinely ready: floor plan agreed, positions marked, power and data where they are supposed to be.

Where the new space is not ready, the honest answer is usually to move in stages or to hold part of it in store rather than to deliver into a building site and shuffle it later.

Records, stock and the confidentiality question

Client files, HR records and anything with personal data in it are moved on the sealed and numbered basis we use for storage, so there is an auditable record of what went where. For a lot of businesses that is the part that matters most, and it is worth raising at survey so it is documented properly rather than assumed.

Retail and studio stock is handled the same way, with an inventory that lets you reconcile afterwards.

What we do not do

We do not reconnect servers, configure networks or certify electrical work. We carry, place and protect; your IT and facilities people do the rest. Firms that claim the whole lot tend to be vague about which bit they are actually insured for.

We also will not promise a Monday start in a building we have not surveyed. If the lift booking falls through, no amount of good intention makes the schedule work.

Questions about office and business moves

01 Can you move our office at the weekend?

Yes, and most Wimbledon commercial moves happen that way. It depends on what the building permits, which is one of the first things the survey establishes.

02 Do you provide crates?

Yes, reusable crates delivered ahead of the move and collected afterwards. They pack faster than cartons, stack properly on trolleys and leave you with no cardboard to dispose of.

03 Who packs the desks?

Usually staff pack their own crate, which works well when they are given the crates early enough and told what goes in them. We can pack instead if you would rather — it is a line in the quote either way.

04 Will you handle our servers and IT?

We disconnect, carry and place hardware. Reconnection and configuration stay with your IT provider. We are explicit about that boundary rather than blurring it.

05 Can you store furniture we are not taking?

Yes, under the same sealed inventory. A lot of office moves shed furniture, and holding it while you decide whether to sell or dispose of it is straightforward.
